She is the Director of Small Harbor Publishing and the Executive Editor at the museum of americana. She lives in Missouri with her spouse and three children.

Her work has appeared in The New York Times, World Literature Today, PEN America, The Washington Post, Tin House, The Irish Times, and Guernica. Raised in Dublin, Ireland, she now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
